Teaching is not a profession or a career for me, it is a way of life. My goal has always been to help each one of my students develop and utilize their higher order thinking skills to solve everyday problems and situations. Further, I believe that the student should always remain the focus of any conversation. My approach is to do whatever it takes to help each student meet the standards. This may mean differentiating instructional methods and or assessments to best suit the student in question. The magic ingredient is that through encouragement and reflection students acquire the mindset that growth is possible when the target is clear and the effort consistent. Throughout my years of teaching, I have a great deal of experience at designing and implementing a variety of instructional Methods and Assessments in order to meet individual’s learning styles.
We educators owe it to ourselves, our colleagues and our students to work together to meet each individual student’s needs. It is only in this way that we can nurture a generation of students that are excellent problem solvers and are capable of making knowledgeable and moral decisions.
